This album eludes to the notion that Curtis was known as 'the gentle genius' an alias that can be found evident in many of his songs such as the opening track to this album "Little Child Runnin' Wild". When listening to this album take note of the prominent Curtis favorite "Pusherman" and the title track "Superfly", but be sure not to neglect the classic "Freddie's Dead". The third endorsement of this site propagates its focus on his most noteworthy piece of work "Superfly", a soundtrack that seamlessly coincides with the film of the same title. That being said, even though I am in the album recommendation concentration this entry serves as a Curtis tribute. Curtis Mayfield is one of my favorite artists, and I was reluctant to present him this early in the site's lifespan.
